Come join the fun at Darwin Brewery for the Thursday night trivia league. Make some new friends, enjoy some quality craft beer and show off your trivia skills. Hey, you’ll probably make some new friends too.
5. Mark Your Calendar for Lobster Fest
You’re retired, who needs a planner anymore? This one is worth noting so you don’t miss out. Every July the Italian American Club of Venice’s 8th Midsummer Festival; Maine Lobster Fest. You’ll forget you’re in Florida instead of Maine enjoying the fresh lobster and fixings.
6. Movie Night
Who doesn’t love a good movie? Even better watching it outside under the stars. Join the Venice Institute for Performing Arts at their monthly Friday night movie night. Come to Venice’s Centennial Park where movies will start at sundown. Bring the family, your blankets and chair and enjoy a good movie night.
7. Try Your Hand at Pickleball
Never heard of pickleball? It’s time to learn. This sport uses paddleball and combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis for a fun and interactive group game.
From October through May there a variety of indoor locations to play in Sarasota County. Come watch a demo or join a pickleball league, socials, or tournament.
8. Enjoy Artwalk
Are the arts more your thing? Visit the Village of the Arts for their monthly Artwalk. The first Friday night and Saturday morning of each month Artwalk allows you to stroll and view art, hear music and enjoy the art scene. Times are Friday night, 6-9:30 pm and Saturday 11 am-4 pm.
9. Join Our Water Aerobics

10. Robinson Nature Preserve
Enjoy the best of Florida’s nature at the Robinson Nature Preserve located in Bradenton. Visitors can walk or bike on trails. View local wildlife. You can even canoe and kayak in the marshes and waterways within the preserve.
