Water Aerobics

Water aerobics is the performance of aerobic exercise in a swimming pool. It is a type of resistance training. Exercising in water builds cardiovascular stamina, strength, and flexibility, helps burn body fat, increase circulation, and can help you rehabilitate healing muscles and joints. With so many benefits, you can see why you should join us in our resort style, heated pool!

More Benefits to Our Water Aerobics Program

Unlike swimming, water aerobics requires the individual to stay in one spot in the pool rather than doing laps back and fourth. Yes, you will have to move your arms and legs to experience the health benefits of water aerobics but it is a low impact exercise perfect for our 50+ residents. For example, the water adds buoyancy to your muscles which takes some of the weight off your joints. Jump in the pool and join our water aerobics program today!

Did you know participating in water aerobics can burn up to 400 calories in one hour? Don’t let that scare you, our program has lovely trainers who can help you find a consistent motion. We encourage all those who participate to move at their own pace. Besides burning calories, water aerobics can help you become more flexible. Being in the water allows you to easily move in ways that may be challenging on land. In fact, many physical therapy experts suggest moving around in the pool can help build muscle and flexibility after an injury.

No matter the temperature outside, our community pool is heated for your convenience. Our program can make you feel better about getting the necessary exercise you need while having fun in the pool. As one of our most popular activities here, there should be nothing in stopping you from participating.
